Kruiper, Belinda
Description: Belinda Kruiper was born in Cape Town and spent her formative years in the Little Karoo town of Canarvon. Her family, the Franklin-Sonns are well-known figures in South African education, sporting and political circles. Her connection with the Kruiper family began in 1997, when she was employed as a receptionist in the Kalahari Gemsbok National Park (since renamed the Kgalagadi Transfrontier Park). That link developed into a lifelong love affair with the Bushmen people. She and her late husband Vetkat were married in 1999 in a Bushman ceremony that was later legalised. Belinda's deep passion is the Kalahari and its people and her current undertaking is the inception of a Kalahari venture that will restore dignity to the Kalahari people and facilitate their future survival.
